The Charity

The Chelmsford Phab club is based at the Evangelical Church, in Broomfield Road, and is registered with the Charities Commission and affiliates to National Phab – Charity Number 283931.

The club is based in Chelmsford. We meet on a Tuesday night though we do not run on bank holidays or throughout the summer. Each member pays a subscription (sub) of £2.00 if they make their own way to the centre and a £3.00 contribution if they make use of the Local Taxi. The subs are altered accordingly if we are having an expensive activity.

The club provides a tuck shop that sells hot and cold drinks, crisps and sweets at the retail price and is a small source of profit for the club funds.

There are numerous activities that the club enjoys. A list of some of the past activities is seen below:

  • Boccia
  • Bingo
  • Games Nights
  • Bar meals
  • Discos
  • Craft nights
  • Quizzes
  • Singers
  • Parties
  • Bowling
  • Fireworks displays

There are about 50 members who attend the club regularly. The group encompasses all manner of disabilities. It is a very mixed group but the club maintains a good balance so that all the attention is shared amongst the whole club rather than on one individual.

We believe that if you want to join our club, we will provide every opportunity for you to be there.  We have a number of very good volunteers who help with transport to the club and its various functions, or if needs be a Local Taxi will pick you up.

So Come and Join us, you will be Very Welcome.

Phab' s aim is to promote and encourage people of all abilities to come together on equal terms, to achieve complete inclusion within the wider community.
